Lowndes HS falls 10-2 at the hands of the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity
The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity beat Lowndes HS on Friday 10-2 at Valdosta HS in seven innings.
The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity scored four runs in the sixth on the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Alex Kliphouse, a two-run single by Grant Pearce, and a sacrifice fly by Connor McKnight.
Pearce racked up five RBIs on two hits for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity.
Lowndes HS had no answer for Brennan Vincent, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Vincent held Lowndes HS hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Landon Sims recorded the win for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity. He allowed two runs over four innings. Sims struck out five, walked two and gave up three hits.
Dalton Smith was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity scored one run on an RBI single by Matt Cunningham.
The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity piled on two more runs in the top of the second. A clutch sacrifice fly scored Pearce to open the scoring in the frame.
