Boys Varsity Baseball
Brett Graczyk did all he could to give the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Collins Hill HS, as the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity lost 8-3 in seven innings at Collins Hill HS on Wednesday.
Graczyk went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Spencer Douches got the win for Collins Hill HS. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked four and surrendered four hits.
Landon Sims was charged with the loss. He lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity attack began with a single from Alex Andronica. A double by Graczyk then moved Alex Andronica from first to third. The scoreboard lit up again for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity when Graczyk scored on an RBI single by Matt Cunningham.
One Collins Hill HS baserunners came all the way around to score in each of the second, third and fourth. In the second, Collins Hill HS scored on a sacrifice fly by Grant Bonner, bringing home Flores.
Collins Hill HS never trailed after scoring one run in the fourth on an RBI single by Watson.
Collins Hill HS added five more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Zabowski's single got things going, plating Wilson Holland.
One run in the top of the seventh helped the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity close their deficit to 8-3. A wild pitch sparked the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity's rally. Ryan Jones got the last out, as the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity's Cunningham.
