Scoreboard operators were busy at Johns Creek HS on Wednesday as the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity and Johns Creek HS combined for 17 runs. South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity eventually won the offensive battle 9-8 in seven innings.
The teams combined for 22 hits, including seven extra base hits.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with eight lead changes.
The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. The South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity scored on a two-run double by Bradley Prince, Jr. off Chaz Bertoloni, plating Connor McKnightand Landon Sims.
Prince, Jr. racked up two RBIs on two hits for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity.
Alex Kliphouse got the win for the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity despite allowing eight runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked two and surrendered 11 hits.
Bertoloni ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
The bottom of the first saw Johns Creek HS take an early lead, 1-0. Jace Mercer got things going for Johns Creek HS with a double. A single by Bo Majkowski then moved Mercer from second to third.
After a quick strike from the South Forsyth War Eagles Varsity, Johns Creek HS responded with one run in the fifth. Johns Creek HS scored on a solo home run by Alex Jocovetty.
